New Year, New Toon, New Guild (Well sort of)!!!

Well the Holidays are finally over and now its time to focus back on the important things in life…EVERQUEST 2!!!!!!!!

I have been tinkering around with my 3 main toons and getting them leveled and tradeskilled up, its been a long and sometimes boring process. I am more of a solo player vs the group aspect of the game, dont get me wrong i love the occasional group or raid to get the blood flowing, but 98% of the time i am solo. I feel that being solo i can work at my own pace, if i want to stare at a mob and work out some strategy before jumping in i can, in a group thats not so easy, espically if you have someone like i use to be they see a mob and RUN straight for it and pull everything in site…hehe (done that one too many time) !!

But since the New Year is here i have taken a break from my older toons and made room for a new toon on the same old server but in a different new but old guild for me, i know that sounds confusing, so i’ll explain.

See i was once part of the Looony Toons guild in Crushbone , one of the founding fathers so to speak, well after sometime i was growing boried with the role of a leader and wanted to be lead, had alot of things going on in my RL that was affecting my EQ2 life, so i made a decision to step down and leave the guild to look for a more raiding guild, at the time all i wanted to do was raid and get the uber gear and become a ledgend.

Yes, i made a new home and fell in love with my guildies who have been the best friends a person could ask for in game and out of game. i still felt like i have had a peice missing from me, so on Monday i made a deciosion to create a new toon and tag him back into the old guild that i came from and work with them for a while. Now for anyone who is in the guild i am in now, dont worry – Chubby, Cinder, Kuzab and the other 2 alts are not leaving the guild, i just needed a change of pace and visit some old friends for a while, i will still be on my older toons and getting them where they need to be but i will also be working on this new toon and guild to help get them to GL 90. Just spreading the love guys !!

I have been very impressed with Looony Toons the last couple nights, last night they had over 20 players on for a majority of the night, it was great i havent seen that in a guild in a long long time and felt proud that i was at one point in my life that i helped create this guild, they have done so much ove the last couple years and have built the guild into a strong force for the citizens of Norrath. Also i didn’t releize this till last night that i created and join this new / old guild on the guilds Anniversay, so ironically one of the Founding Fathers returns on the night that the guild was origionally created serveral years ago!! 🙂

Anyways, alot is going on and i am here to partake in the fun festivities and get a new toon off the ground and into a raiding guild as this is what they have developed into again another ironic thing i have found, i left to goto a raiding guild that fell from raiding to create a new toon to go to my old guild who is now Raiding!! Lost yet!!

So the next post i have with my update progress should not be so confusing, the new toon is a ShadowKnight, since i just love the pure raw abilities of the SK class,and he is sitting at lvl 16 with about 12 AA’s, i am in the process of becoming a citizen of Freeport as i feel that Neirek is just too confusing to be able to raise a new toon. So if your on Crushbone look for Chubbers the Kerra SK, i’m sure you’ll see me around, hit me up for a PUG or just to chat.

Back, and time to craft!!

Well as most of you may have noticed i haven’t been posting and on one of my last post i mentioned that i have been having some personal real life issues going on. Well i am still in the process of getting a divorce and have been very depressed as of lately, and haven’t wanted to write let alone play anything to write about, so i have decided to keep my sanity, that i need to do something that i love to do and that would be playing video games and  to write about them. So once again i am here to state that i am back for now, to continue on with my adventures and let the worlds know about them.

I renewed my Eq2 subscription last night, it was inactive for the last 25 days and really didnt feel like renewing or had the money to at the time. So last night i balanced the check book and had some extra money to play with, so instead of heading the closest bar in hopes that they had cheap beer and Karaoke going on, i decided to renew Eq2….at least i can save some money this way!!

So there i was logged into my Level 90 ShadowKnight, didnt know what i wanted to do, checked the broker nothing, i forgot i haven’t played in some time, so i continued to see what i was in need of and noticed that she was still level 62 sage. So immediatly i went to the crafting stations and began my grind to 90, i ended up going up to level 65 Sage last night, not bad for a couple hours of play time. I plan on getting back into the grind, by sometime next week i should be at level 90 sage if i keep at it, after that i plan on getting Chubby up to 90 in adventures. I know i have said this before and before again but this time i am going to git’R Done, once i have completed those 2 task i will have 2 toons that are 90 in both Trade and adventure, and can begin on working on their armor for raids, and lower shard runs.

So you should be seeing alot more post from me since i have a little time on my hands, also check out nomadic gamers blog they have several writers including myself and talk about all sorts of MMO’s, everything from Eve, Eq2, Vangard to event he free MMO’s DDO and Wizard 101, check them out and give them a chance, i’m sure you’ll be back for more!!

Chubby hits Lvl 83….DING!!

Well, I have been slowly making it back into Eq2 again, i have had some major Real Life issues going on right now, between getting a divorce, making sure i see my kids and seeking out legal advise i have not had much time to log in nor have i wanted to log in and play, however i have managed this past week & weekend to get some play time in. As you may know Cinderbella hit Lv 90 a few weeks back and i changed focus back to my origional main toon “Chubbylilbuddy”. I have been taking chubby to the newer areas from the expansion since he was past lvl 80 and doing as many quest as i can, everything from collections to faction quests just to get him leveled up, Thursday night 7/8/2010 Chubby hit lvl 83 beserker, its been a long time getting chubby up in levels and seemed like Cinderbella flew thru the levels with no problems. i am finding the content is great once again, and chubby can hold his own, he has some t2 shard armor but i am finding that some of the armor in the newer areas for lvls 82-83 are not as good as the t2 shard armor. I need to sit back and do some new research so i can figure out what he needs, i now have 1 toon thats 90 and chubby at 83 in which i can take them back to the lower lvl shard quest and obtain some more shards to upgrade their armor to what i need. Also i need to focus on the faction quest as well since some of the jewerly and armor you can obtain from those factions has some really good stats that Chubby can use.

As i mentioned i will be having alot more free time, and will be playing alot more to hopefully take my mind off of RL issues going on right now. This may only be a game but folks dont understand the therputic values games of any nature can have and help people with their real life issues, I have been in a very dark place the last couple of weeks and Eq2 has pulled me out of that darkness, not only the content but the indiviuals from my guild and friends that i have made over the years with in Eq & Eq2.

EQ2 Prowler Mounts & Halas Reborn

Well i know haven’t posted in sometime, i have been very busy with real life and haven’t been with in my Virutal home that much.

As most everyone by this point knows that SOE Everquest 2 has released their lastest update “Halas Reborn”, I too was able to log in very breifly and was able to create a new toon starting in this area, i made a Barbarian Guardian names Oleaxu, so far the quest are just like any starting area, go kill X amount of “CREATURE ADDED HERE” and come back for your reward, Even though they are the standard quest i still find it thrilling that there is a new area as well as new content, the storyteller mode is a bit confusing and i am still trying to figure this out myself, and the i also logged in and obtained my little frost kitty, too bad we cant use the little fur ball for combat.

Speaking of Kittys, i entered a contest over at Ten Ton Hammers website on “Loading….”, the contest was to win a free Prowler mount yest thats right the New Prowler Mounts that are currently on sale on the Marketplace for $25.00 real dollars…i could not pass the contest up after all all you had to do was send a email to a specific Ten Ton Hammer email that they listed with the subject line “Gimme me a Prowlerrrrrr!! and they would draw the winners on Memorial day, well i submitted my email on the Thursday before, and i totally forgot about entering this contest, so i logged into my email on Tuesday because i was camping all weekend for the holiday because thats what we do at this time of the year..lol

But to make a long story even longer, i logged into the email and there was a email from Ten Ton Hammer…CONGRATULATION YOU WON A PROWLER….I thought i was going to fall out of my chair at that point. So i was one of the 5 winners of the contest i was provided a code to redeem which i did already and i am now the proud father of a Prowler Mount which costed me nothing but a email….woot woot

I am still fine tuning my newest toon in the Halas area, i will be reporting more on their adventures as we progress.

So far from what i have seen of this new content it is great, the area looks great, the house items are fabolus, the City festival is currently in New Halas on my server and i have picked up some great items for my house, however i am now going to buy a bigger home.

Well thats all i have to report on for this time,  i will be adding some photos to this post this evening.

Weekend Gaming: 3/19/2010 – 3/21/2010

Well my weekend gaming was not so much fun filled, Friday night i was breifly in the game due to falling asleep early after taking my new meds, still not quite adjusted to them yet.

Saturday i was just too busy to get any real game time in, i was up at 1030 getting rdy to go get fitted for a Tux for Corliss’s (RL Firend in game) wedding which i am part of, after that came home and did some house work and then took the kids to dinner and a movie, by the time we returned home and had the kids in bed it was past midnight and i was having problems keeping my eyes open.

Sunday again had many things planned out thru the day, did finish those up around 3 but i again fell asleep on the couch and woke up and started to cook dinner. Once dinner was finished the dishes were done it was time to relax, wife was on the couch, and i at my computer chair, wondering if i was going to get yelled at fro logging in too early.

Anyways i finally got into game around 830pm on Sunday and finished alot of quest in the sundering frontier, in the panda village, i finished all the quest that were offered to me, i have confirmed this with http://Eq2i.Wika.com i received alot nice house items, and was able to purchase a few nice pieces of jewerly from the panda merchant which boosted my HP over 13K. My Faction with the pandas is at 33K not bad for a few hours of work.

I am also in need of help on a quest that i didnt finish that co-insides with JOJO on Kerra isle, thats the only quest with the pandas i didnt finish and its linked back to kerra isle, its where i need a partner to pick the walking roots, someone has to be in the cave and i have to be on top of the cave and we both click ont he root at the same time to get the update, yeah this is a pain, i can never find anyone to help…Still looking in case anyone wants to help shoot me a tell on crushbone server.

Cinderbella, did hit lvl 85 last night and i also spent about 50 plat in rares so chubby could make some combat art upgrades to Adept III.

I love the new expansion, there is so much to too, i still have a few quest left in TSF, and then i am heading back to Stonebrunt Frontier to work on some there, also Cinderbella is at a tradeskille lvl of 61 and has to be moved up sooon, then i can start all over with Chubby working his way thru SF expansion. This i can actully say is one expansion that i cannot get tired of.

I do want to send a shout out to Twixt on Crushbone server in knights of Marr guild, Twixt great job on the Guild hall, it looks awsome i know yaj and J prob helped but i think you prob did alot of the work…Gratzzzz.

Well with that being said stay tuned for more information as it breaks, i plan on post all the new update notes and any usefull info from SOE that may be announced.

YAJEE 200 KNIGHTS OF MARR GUILD WRIT CONTEST

“Well hello there Travelers, I have come from the distant lands to share a story of fame and wealth!!!!”

 

 

Yeah ok enough of the drama we have enough going on without it, what i am trying to get around to say is yes its that time of year again, YAJEE 200 is in full swing for Knights of Marr guild members.

What is the Yajee 200???

Well Yajee is one of the guild leaders of Knights of Marr on the crushbone server of Everquest 2, and 200 is the number of writs that needs to be completed in order to win the contest, yes 200 writs, first person to reach 200 writs will be rewarded 40 Plat…..woooohooooo.

This contest is great last years winner was Corliss 

 

 

The contest is only open to members of KOM only, and the fun has already begun, KOM hit level 81 last night due to the contest, and i can say that Chubby knocked out 29 writs last night alone and 10 the night before, so he is up to 39 writs of the 200.

Also Chubby has moved in his tradeskill level and is now a level 85 Alchemist, damn  about time i know Cinderbella is in need of some combat arts and potions.

 

Also in the news of KOM Twixt, Mya or what ever alt she is going by these days is re-decorating the guild hall for KOM with some of the latest additions of the expansions. So lets give her a big warm round of cheer for working hard at making our guild hall look like that home away from home!!

Ahh what the hell, we will just make this Knights of Marr guild post..lol

Also in the exciting news of KOM, i want to send a congrats out to Shadowblades, aka Tastopherie (something like that) he has been promoted to guild leader, this position is shared by Yajee, Healyou, &  Knebiter. Sorry if i missed anyone else i am drawing a blank. but anyways Good luck with the added pressure, stress, and all the enjoyments of decision making when it comes to leadership, i should know i was one of the leaders of Loooney Toons in Eq2 and Heart of the Black Dragon in Eq2 and Eq1. anyways congrats and good luck.

So i finally did battlegrounds the other night, as i had no clue as to what i was doing i was jus running around aimlessly killing anything i saw move, if you were a team-mate…ooooopsie……my bad!!!  🙂

Not a bad concept, taking some of the game features of a First person shooter and develop them into a MMO, like Hold Territory Towers, capture the flag, Hold the Relic and so on. As these idea are not fresh and new, but just redesigned into a different format of gaming. From my understanding you can gain or be rewarded different types of Armor or armor sets, i have yet to see those, except for the ones that Harlow made me for toughness, War-painted armor. but as a reward for participating in the tournaments you gain yet another type of coin to collect and use to purchase new items. Well i have 3 so far as i did 3 of these games, i can see this being a filler when you are bored with the everyday grind of the game or just don’t feel like crafting, lest just see how long SOE will keep it around and what they have in store for this, as we have seen LON looks like its here to stay, so can they do the same with Battlegrounds??? Only time will tell.

So with the new expansion out and most players have been playing since mid Feb. 2010, tell me what you think of the expansion, the changes, the additions, send your likes and dislikes. This is your chance to express your opinion on the latest SOE EQ2 Expansion.

Stomach Virus caused outage in EQ2..News at 11!!!

“THIS JUST IN….HOT OFF THE PRESS….HEREYEEE HEREYEE READ ALL ABOUT IT VIRUS CAUSES OUTAGE IN EQ2……”

Yeah so i woke up out of dead sleep on Tueday morning around 5am, and proceeded to the bathroom, where i was hoping that my life would end so the pain would be gone, yeah that didnt happen. The so called porceil gods did not hear my request of that moment or those hours that i was curled in the fetal position.

I have been out of commision now for the last 2 days, both days i logged into Eq2 very little, i thought i could get some quest knockd out of the way but the graphics were making me more sick then the virus was causing, so i just went back to sleep after 10 minutes of trying.

After 2 days of partial sleep, i am feeling better, i think i need to find a new doctor as when i called to see when they could get me in (After explaining what was wrong), i was advised March 15th 315pm…Ahhh yeah i think and HOPE that i will not still be sick 2 weeks away, needless to say i was drinking Pepto like it was water or a can of coke.

I was feeling better after 42 hours of sleep and very little fluids, i was able to keep down soup, and crackers, i then went to the PC and this was the true test of the night…was i going to be able to play without running back to the porceil gods……YES YES I WAS ABLE Wooot wooot.

So i settled in for some long overdue quest grinding i think i knocked out 25 quest in the Sundered Frontier Timeline, i am up to Jin’Tu the ghost Panda doing quest fro him so i can get to the village and do more Panda quest..lol i have been doing a ton of quest of late and all are in this new expansion, i also was able to add my part to Eq2i.wikia as i created a quest and all the steps and rewards to help other players, i logged in the next day and a admin had fixed the portions i had problems with on the coding..lol but hey at least i did my part, a quest that wasnt on there is now there to help others in their search….Yes as you have just read i run eq2 in windows mode and have wikia up in another browser looking up quest to help me with my journeys, so may call me lazy or a cheat, but hey i look at it as a tool to help guide me in the correct dirrection, and as i have come to find out over the years Wikia is not 100% correct.

Well with that said Cinderbella, hit lvl 84 last night, i am going to get her to 85 and stop and refocus on Chubby’s Alchemist skills so that i can make all the combat art spell upgrade for Cinder.
I have been getting all these great new upgraded spells and havent done a thing with them becasue i am too lazy to spend the plat on them, and the new exp you can make some quick loot just on afew quests and trash loots, I have noticed that the rares on the nodes do not drop alot making them a true rare.

Well i think i have caused enough damage for one day, sorry for no pics i am writing this from work and then posting, if i remember i will update with some new pics of the Frontier.

I will be back on tonight and saturday as i have to take Friday night off, for a Cub Scout overnighter with my son, we will be sleeping in the Carnagie Science Center in Pittsburgh PA this years Cub Scout Overnighter theme is “Robots”…Hehe man what i could tell them about the damn gnomes of Norrath, now thats some Serious ROBOTS CRAP there.

I’ll be back on Saturday for my normal ALLNIGHTER GAME-A-THONE and not to be confused with the ALLNIGHTER GAME -A-THONG!!!!! >:)

Happy Holidays to everyone

Well i havent posted anything in a while and prob lost my loyal readers, but hey lets see who is still out there.

Anyways not too much has been going on in my EQ2 world just working on Cinderbella she is finally lvl 70 and 58 sage, so i have been grinding her out. I have said this all to much but i love the shadowknight class and cant wait to work on her some more.

Also on my Origional toon Kuzab, me and a few Real life friends have created a New Guild and this guild dates back to the day of Eq1, “Heart of the Black Dragon” we had this guild in eq1 for the longest time and we accomplished so many differernt things before Eq2 was launched, we ran into each other in game a month ago and started the idea of bringing the guild back and see where it takes us. I am still part of my other guild i only took 1 toon out, i will always be part of my Knights i do not want to leave them.

However the new guild is going well we have 10 members and are working on getting the guild leveled up as of last night we are at lvl 9 or 10 i cant remember but is going well, of course no guild hall as of yet, just alot of Heritage quest and tradeskill writs are being done as well as collecting as many status items as i can. i must of spent 30plat on status items so far. the guild last i checked has 15Plat saved in the bank and we are working on saving for a GH and some basic aminities.
I feel the nastolgia from the past living again in this new day and age and enjoying the paladin class with Kuzab.

The guild is more or less a east coast guild looking for players that want to enjoy the game and proceed through it different challanges, we are Freeport based at this point and that makes it difficult for Kuzab to enter being only lvl 55 and KOS. But these are some of the challanges that we must face to make our mark on Norrath once again.
Sooner or later the Name “Heart of the Black Dragon” will strike fear in the eyes of Norrath once again.

Also i wanted to wish my readers a Happy Holidays at this time of the year what ever ritual your family may celebrate i hope it is the best one yet and remember to kiss and not kick a gnome during this time of the year, gnomes need love too.

Quick update

Ok so everything is going as planned, mom came out of Surgery ok, sore but ok. She is being moved to a rehab center for her knee today and will be there for a week or until she is able to walk on her own again . So i will be staying at my dads house with him making sure he is alright as well as running between my own house and getting kids to where they have to be and giving my wife a break, Thankfully my older brother will be comiong home tommorrow and leaving Sunday eve, and i will get a small break for it all.

Other than that no gaming this week for me, havent had time i was going to get on last night but could not keep my eyes open and decided to just goto bed at 930pm and still woke up late for work COMON now..lol

I should be in game tonight if all goes well, hopefully the new PC my dad has will be able to run Eq2 at the lowest settings if not i need to run to my house for a video card that will..lol

RL Catching up with me

Well not much to report over the last week or since i last updated not much has been happening in game, i’ve been falling asleep early and not getting game time in, this may be due to Real Life catching up or the fact that my wife has us running ragged, Mondays both kids have soccer practice, Tuesdays Daughter has soccer practice, Wed Son has soccer practice and Cub scouts right afterwards, Thursdays is Girl scouts and PTO meetings, Friday night is high school football night , Saturday is spent at the soccer field since both kids have games and then usually work around the house and Grocery shopping , Sundays is Church and what ever my wife can find for me to do…So no wonder i have been dosing off at the keyboard or on the couch before 9pm.

Now this week we have a new monkey wrench in the mix my mom is having Knee Surgery and i have to take care of my dad, so this week i am staying in the evenings at his house then going to pick the kids upa dntake them to school then head to work. I just installed Eq2 on dads PC and currently updating all patches as we speak it says i have an hour left but then jumps to 4 hrs so by morning i should be ready so tomorrow night i should be back in game.

So again Real life is catching up with and hopefully after this week i should be back o track, as soccer is over after this saturday then Basketball starts in a few weeks Wooooohoooooooo not.
